Mother Goose Time Monthly Thematic Units
The Mother Goose Time preschool curriculum program is based on teaching monthly themes that are further broken down into weekly sub-themes. Within those learning themes, children will learn literacy, math, science, social studies, fine motor development, gross motor development etc. This program allows preschool aged children to learn through a hands-on approach, learn about the process not the product, develop critical thinking, learn through play, and develop social skills.
The curriculum will be slightly different from year to year to accommodate the students who attend for 2 years in a row. Differentiated learning activities will be available daily in order for the students to choose age appropriate activities that will provide them with a challenge. If there is a theme your child is interested in learning about, let us know! We can develop the curriculum for that theme as well! The following is a general schedule for our thematic learning for the school year:
A note on holidays and celebrations:
At ISPS, we feel it is important to celebrate and learn about different holidays, traditions, and customs; therefore, we will be learning about several different holidays throughout the school year. We will generally only take one day of school to learn about these various holidays and believe that exposure to different traditions and customs provides a globally-minded learner who values people of different cultures, values, and beliefs.
